Hackett-Hemwall Foundation

Dr. Krasnick was trained in the techniques of prolotherapy by the Hackett-Hemwall Foundation, a volunteer foundation that works to train physicians and provide free medical care to under-served populations. Dr. Krasnick has participated in numerous physician missions to Honduras, providing prolotherapy treatments to patients who otherwise would never be able to afford and experience pain relief through this kind of treatment. While a participating physician on these missions, he has also trained other physicians from all over the world, who have come to learn the techniques of prolotherapy.

George S. Hackett, founder of the Foundation, pioneered the prolotherapy technique in the United States in the late 1950’s, and is credited with bringing this technique to mainstream medicine. After 20 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Hackett arrived at the conclusion that injured ligaments and injured tendons were the top two most common causes of pain in people. His first group of patients with whom he conducted his prolotherapy research and whom he followed over the course of 12 years, experienced impressive success – 82% claimed that the prolotherapy technique actually cured their pain and injury.

The Foundation’s teaching and research programs are funded by private donations. All their work to organize, operate, teach and maintain the organization comes from volunteer efforts.
